Our Story
Sukrut Spices began in 1985 when Rajesh Patel, a spice merchant from Gujarat, India, moved to the United States with a dream to bring authentic Indian flavors to American kitchens.
Starting with just a small shop in New York, Rajesh's commitment to quality and authenticity quickly gained a loyal following. He would personally travel back to India twice a year to select the finest spices directly from farmers.
Today, Sukrut Spices has grown into a beloved brand that still maintains those direct relationships with farmers and still adheres to Rajesh's original vision: bringing the world's finest spices to your table, with no compromises on quality or flavor.
Our Journey
1985
The Beginning
Rajesh Patel opens the first Sukrut Spices shop in New York, importing small batches of premium spices from his hometown in Gujarat, India.
1995
Expansion
After a decade of success, Sukrut Spices expands to three locations across the East Coast and begins developing signature spice blends.
2005
Going Organic
Sukrut Spices launches its organic line, working directly with farmers to implement sustainable farming practices while maintaining exceptional quality.
2015
Digital Transformation
Sukrut Spices launches its e-commerce platform, making its premium spices available nationwide while introducing educational content about spice origins and uses.

Global Presence
